VIDEO:  Gender & Communication

If you are a late add, we want you to catch up and learn some key ideas about sex and gender.  You can watch a similar intro lecture of mine online:

  • First, make sure you have, or please get the free RealPlayer at http://realplayer.com (be sure to choose free version).
  • Once it’s installed, watch the first lecture on Sex & Gender here:
    http://atn7.sjsu.edu:8080/ramgen/mediacontent/socmay3008.rm
    – there’s a bunch of dead space and nonrelated stuff at the beginning, so skip to about 13:45.
  • You cannot makeup the gender identity assignment mentioned at the end of the video, but please watch the video lecture — these are key concepts you will use throughout the class, and on exams.

    Rosie the Riveter
